Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County (Habitat CFC) is proud to announce the winners of its second-annual Front Yard Beautification Contest, held in June in celebration of National Homeownership Month. The contest was created to honor the creativity, care, and pride that Habitat homeowners bring to their communities—one front yard at a time.
And the winners are:
- 1st Place: Sandalee Sotomayor and David Nieves
- 2nd Place: Antonia Lopez
- 3rd Place (Tie): Alma Machado
- 3rd Place (Tie): Allen Mann
Entries were judged by a panel Habitat CFC Volunteer - Family Selection Committee on the following criteria:
Creativity and Originality – Unique design elements and innovative landscaping ideas
Aesthetic Appeal – Overall visual harmony and attractiveness
Sustainability – Use of eco-friendly practices and materials
Maintenance – Neatness and ongoing care of the yard
“This contest was a beautiful way to celebrate National Homeownership Month and highlight the pride our families take in their homes,” said Valencia Goodridge, Habitat CFC Director of Family Services. “Each participant brought something special to the table, showing how homeownership can truly blossom.”
Winners were recognized at a recent celebration where families, board members and staff were in attendance.
Congratulations to all who participated—and thank you for helping beautify our neighborhoods and inspire others through your vision and dedication.
